The curriculum for all English classes consists of grammar, writing, vocabulary, and literature. Coordination of the English curriculum with History department courses allows for cross-curricular assignments and a more integrated view of the humanities.

Language and Literature
American Literature
This course explores American Literature, with units on poetry, the short story, and a novel. Students will focus on thesis statements, supporting analysis, and effective exposition. (Honors Option*)
World Literature
This course covers the chronological history of world literature from ancient to modern texts, including epic poetry, lyric poetry, philosophical exposition, the short story, and the novel. (AP Option)
