YCNC CARES ACT POLICY

September 24, 2020

1) YCNC acknowledges that we signed and returned to the Department of Education the Certification and Agreement for receiving student grant money under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act. Please be aware that we intend to use no less than 50 percent of the funds received under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act to provide Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students.

2) YCNC has received a total $9,867 for the student grant.

3) To date YCNC has distributed $0 out of the $9,867 available funds.

4) To date YCNC estimates that there are two students eligible to receive any of the grant funds.

5) To date YCNC has not distributed funds to any students.

6) Only students who are eligible to participate in programs under Section 484 in Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965 will be awarded any funds from the Grant. If a student is interested in receiving grant aid they would first need to contact our Office Administrator and submit a written statement detailing the cost of their needs and how it is coronavirus related. The YCNC Office Administrator will determine if the needs are in compliance with the rules of Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act. If approved, the request will be sent to the Dean of Students who will decide how much to award each student.

7) To initiate an Emergency Financial Aid Grants fund request, students must submit a written request to Rabbi Yitzchak Labell at ylabell@yeshiva.edu. Please note that funds will be distributed on a first come first served basis.
