  • Boys Division: Chazarah X 101!

    Talmidim who commited to reviewing the first few blatt of Gittin 101 times participated in a special Chanukah seudah at the Rosh HaYeshiva’s home. A new chazara program has been launched in the yeshiva at the Rosh HaYeshiva’s urging, encouraging talmidim to review their Gemara learning 101 times.
  • Boys Division: Chanukah Mesiba with Rav Lopiansky

    Out-of-town students came together for a special and uplifting Chanukah mesiba with Rav Lopiansky.
  • Girls Division: Chai Lifeline Carnival

    The tenth graders partnered with Chai Lifeline’s Mid-Atlantic branch to create a vibrant, free jungle-themed carnival that brought joy and a special pre-Chanukah experience to children with serious illnesses and their families.
  • Girls Division: Student Led Brachos Celebration

    The ninth grade organized a Brachos Celebration, complete with a “100 Brachos a Day” contest and an engaging, student created game to help teach the halachos in a fun and memorable way. 
  • Boys Division: High School Shabbaton

    YGW Boys High School celebrated a wonderful Shabbos in Eshel, PA, marked by immersive learning, athletic activities, and strong camaraderie.
  • Girls Division: Exploring Emes B’dibur

    YGW Girls explored the theme of Emes B’dibur, focusing on exaggeration and the value of “no artificial sweetener” in our words to highlight the importance of honesty and authenticity in how we speak.
  • Girls Division: Science Experimentation

    Sophomores explore states of matter and discover that trapped air keeps crumpled paper dry underwater!
  • Boys Division: Simchas Beis Hashoeva

    YGW High School Boys enjoyed a spirited kumsitz and bonfire, coming together in song, divrei Torah, and meaningful camaraderie in a warm and uplifting atmosphere.
  • Boys Division: High School Trip to Boro Park

    High school students participated in an optional trip to Bobov 45, where they experienced an inspiring Simchas Beis Hashoeva celebration.

About

The Yeshiva of Greater Washington-Tiferes Gedaliah (YGW) is a community-based school on two campuses in Silver Spring, Maryland. We have separate Boys and Girls Middle and High School Programs; a Yeshivah Gedolah/College Program; a Kollel; and community-wide programming. YGW emphasizes the primacy of Torah while providing exceptional general studies instruction. Our students graduate with the passion, preparation, and priorities necessary for life, as well as a healthy sense of self and community.
