Community : Chessed & Learning
Our students practice what they learn! Whether helping handicapped children, building sukkahs, leading Shabbos groups, cooking for Bikkur Cholim, supporting and staffing Yad Yehuda’s kosher food bank and clothing gemach, or visiting the elderly in their ongoing relationships with the Ring House and Alfred House, students are willing and encouraged to help. Yeshiva of Greater Washington is a community school that relates to our community with respect and active concern for its needs. We do not only teach, we reach; in this way our students are taught responsibility to each other, their families, and the community at large. In addition, our students spearhead fundraising efforts for local, national, and international charities such as Magen David Adom, Od Yosef Chai, Alex’s Lemonade Stand, and Chai Lifeline.
