Boys Division
The Yeshiva of Greater Washington–Tiferes Gedaliah prides itself on teaching the “whole child” as a crucial component of its mission to play an integral part in building the future of Klal Yisroel.
Rebbeim and teachers build lifetime ties by connecting with students on a personal level, while small classes enable the staff to cater to the individual needs of our students. The result is a well-rounded, well-educated graduate who is equipped and ready to make his contribution to the greater whole in both the religious and secular world. -
Girls Division
One of our primary goals is to nurture our students’ growth in avodas Hashem and commitment to living as bnos yisrael. Our students are taught a Toras Chaim by passionate teachers who live what they teach and teach what they live.
We aim to meet every student where she is, and encourage her to own her learning and to take intellectual risks, to explore, to set — and meet—higher expectations for herself. Our teachers invite active questioning and discussion, and promote a growth mindset in the classroom so that students develop the confidence to embrace academic challenges and grow from them. -
Yeshiva Gedolah
The Yeshiva Gedolah is designed to help the bochur who is looking to advance in learning, develop an understanding of Torah study, and experience true Ahavas HaTorah.
Under the guidance of experienced Rebbeim, the Yeshiva Gedolah provides an encouraging environment to help each bochur fulfill his potential and grow into a proud, confident, upstanding Ben Torah. -
Kollel
The Kollel enables YGW talmidim to continue their studies after marriage and achieve higher levels of personal growth. These formative years in Kollel allow talmidim of the Yeshiva to blossom into true talmidei chachamim, and take their rightful place amongst the ranks of bnei Torah in Klal Yisroel.
Members of the Kollel are encouraged to connect personally with both YGW students and community members, and actively provide one-on-one learning sessions, deliver inspirational shiurim, and host online Torah classes.

Boys Division: The New Zman Begins!
The Rosh HaYeshiva addressed the boys on the first day back from Pesach break giving them Chizuk for the new zman. -
Boys Division: Siyum on Seder Nashim
On the eve of Pesach break, the Yeshiva celebrated a meaningful Siyum on Seder Nashim, highlighting the power of consistent daily Torah learning, with nearly a third of the student body participating. Built on just a few extra minutes of learning each day, the achievement demonstrated how small, steady efforts can lead to significant and lasting growth. The Siyum also serves as an invitation for the broader community to join the new cycle of Seder Nezikin and continue this journey of commitment and connection. -
Girls Division: YGW Girls Debate Team Competes in Philadelphia
The YGW Girls Debate Team traveled to Philadelphia to compete in the Great Debate at KTA alongside students from six schools, showcasing their skills in prepared speeches, cross-examination, and rebuttals on a resolution about disabling driver texting technology. Two students also competed in an extemporaneous speaking round, demonstrating quick thinking and strong public speaking. The team gained valuable experience and connected with peers from other schools. -
Boys Division: Chazarah X 101!
Talmidim who commited to reviewing the first few blatt of Gittin 101 times participated in a special Chanukah seudah at the Rosh HaYeshiva’s home. A new chazara program has been launched in the yeshiva at the Rosh HaYeshiva’s urging, encouraging talmidim to review their Gemara learning 101 times. -
Boys Division: Chanukah Mesiba with Rav Lopiansky
Out-of-town students came together for a special and uplifting Chanukah mesiba with Rav Lopiansky. -
Girls Division: Chai Lifeline Carnival
The tenth graders partnered with Chai Lifeline’s Mid-Atlantic branch to create a vibrant, free jungle-themed carnival that brought joy and a special pre-Chanukah experience to children with serious illnesses and their families. -
Girls Division: Student Led Brachos Celebration
The ninth grade organized a Brachos Celebration, complete with a “100 Brachos a Day” contest and an engaging, student created game to help teach the halachos in a fun and memorable way.

About
The Yeshiva of Greater Washington-Tiferes Gedaliah (YGW) is a community-based school on two campuses in Silver Spring, Maryland. We have separate Boys and Girls Middle and High School Programs; a Yeshivah Gedolah/College Program; a Kollel; and community-wide programming. YGW emphasizes the primacy of Torah while providing exceptional general studies instruction. Our students graduate with the passion, preparation, and priorities necessary for life, as well as a healthy sense of self and community.
